Strong response prompts new land release at Warner Lakes

A strong New Year response to land in the Rise precinct at the award-winning Warner Lakes has brought forward the release of another 15 new homesites.

Priced from $217,000 the Rise Stage 2 offers a selection of quality homesites ranging from a compact 320m² to a generous 650m² and, coupled with the extension of the Queensland Building Boost and falling interest rates, represents good news for eligible homebuyers.

Spooky fun goes down a treat at Warner Lakes!

Witches, wizards, ghosts and ghouls – joined by the occasional superhero and fairy-princess – were on parade as they trick-or-treated their way around Peet Limited‟s award-winning Warner Lakes community this Halloween.

More than 100 Warner Lakes families joined in for some „scary‟ fun at the community‟s first annual Halloween event on 31 October 2011.

In addition to providing plenty of lollies for the trick-or-treaters young and old, many residents decorated their homes with suitably "horrible‟ home décor while others held driveway barbeques with their neighbours.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said the community‟s neighbourly spirit was very much in evidence throughout the evening.

"Activities and events that encourage a sense of community and provide opportunities for residents to get to know their neighbours are an important part of life at Warner Lakes," he said.

The Halloween event followed hot on the heels of a succession of family-friendly events, including the opportunity to meet sailing icon Jessica Watson, a free Winter Family Fitness program, Easter Egg hunt and regular "Welcome" evenings for new residents.

"Warner Lakes has established itself as one of the most popular residential developments in Brisbane with more than 1,200 homesites sold since the first release in 2004," said Mr Gore.

"The strong focus on community life is part and parcel of what has made Warner Lakes a consistently popular choice with homebuyers."

Students dig deep at Warner Lakes for National Tree Day

Bray Park State School students were out in force under clear, sunny skies to plant trees and shrubs at Peet Limited’s Warner Lakes community to mark Schools Tree Day.

Schools Tree Day is part of National Tree Day – Australia’s biggest community tree planting initiative celebrated at the end of July each year.

Students took their learning outside the classroom and planted more than 150 trees and shrubs in the Warner Lakes community.

A selection of native species was provided by Peet and have now been planted to make the community environment more attractive and provide habitat and food for the local fauna.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said Peet was pleased to support National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day by providing hundreds of plants for the planting day.

“These events give the community, and young people in particular, a chance to roll up their sleeves and make a great contribution to the natural environment – and their own urban environment,” he said.

Bray Park State School teacher Helen Adams said the students had enjoyed getting out the classroom to help.

“The Schools Tree Day activity gave students an understanding of the need to care for our environment and protect it by planting more trees, shrubs and other plants,” Mrs Adams said.

“It also helps students become aware of themselves as part of a wider community,” she added. “We’re really looking forward to going back at the end of the year to see how the plants have grown.”

The environment is an important part of life at Peet Limited’s Warner Lakes community. There is currently a total of nine community parks with modern play equipment and picnic facilities, 10 kilometres of shared cycle and pedestrian paths and another five kilometres of walkways throughout the community.

The parklands and open space includes the picturesque Lake Reflections – part of the $10 million, 20-hectare lakes precinct which created a series of unique waterways at the heart of the community. It was officially opened in October 2010 and provides a tremendous community asset for residents of Warner Lakes.

The latest homesites on offer are in Tallowwood Pocket where there’s a mix of homesites to suit a variety of needs and budgets. They range in size from 375m2 to 837m2 and are priced from $212,000.

Homebuyers Camp Out to Secure Lots at Warner Lakes

Eager homebuyers braved the early spring chill as they camped out to secure one of six rare lakefront homesites at Peet Limited’s Warner Lakes community on Saturday 10 September 2011.

First in the queue was Jacky Hughes who began her ‘stake-out’ outside the Warner Lakes Land Sales Office on Tuesday 6 September. Another buyer joined the line on Friday, with others arriving in the early hours of Saturday morning.

 "I had been helping a friend look for land when I stumbled on six blocks at Warner Lakes. They were close to the lake and I wondered if I could afford one,” said Jacky.

“I wanted to build where my grandchildren didn't have to cross a road to reach the lake and where my mother, who has Alzheimers, could walk around the lake without losing sight of the house.

“It was freezing at night but with the support of my friends and family I was determined to camp overnight. I had my heart set on one particular block so I made sure I got it!
 
“Warner Lakes makes me feel so at home. It's a safe place for my mum, it's affordable - and it's just so peaceful here overlooking the lake."

Jacky joins more than 1,000 people who have already purchased at Warner Lakes. On completion, Warner Lakes will be home to more than 1,600 families.

Budding sailors ahoy! Australia’s youngest solo sailor and Young Australian of the Year, Jessica Watson, needs your help to launch the SS Warner at Warner Lakes on Sunday 18 September 2011.

Jessica will officially open a new state-of-the-art children’s playground specifically designed for younger children under the age of six,, featuring a “boat” to be aptly christened the SS Warner Lakes, at the popular Peet Limited community – and everyone is invited to join in the celebrations!

On the day, children will be able to create their own version of Jessica’s famous ‘Ella’s Pink Lady’ in a boat building workshop. Teams of children in their own creations will then compete in a dry land boat race, set to be sabotaged by pirates!

The race winners will help Jessica to launch the SS Warner in a true boat christening ceremony, by breaking a bottle of (non-alcoholic!) champagne on the bow.

Families can have their photo taken with Jessica and take part in other fun family activities and competitions at the event, from 11am to 3pm.

Jessica Watson captured a global fan base when she sailed unassisted around the world at the tender age of 16. Jessica’s achievement has inspired many young people to follow their dreams – a message she will share with visitors to the launch.

Wild celebrations a hit at Warner Lakes!

Hundreds of people from Warner Lakes and the surrounding area turned out on Saturday, 12 March to celebrate the Warner Lakes Display Village’s first birthday.

A sea of painted lizard and tiger faces dotted the crowd and a steady line at the bouncy castle and Wild Ranger petting zoo’s crocodile and python pens continued throughout the day as people enjoyed the free jungle-themed Family Fun Day.

Aromas from the Kallangur Girl Guides sausage sizzle filled the air, enticing many to enjoy the free food on offer!

In keeping with the jungle theme, the first birthday competition involved answering the simple question, Why are you wild about Warner Lakes? The lucky winner, Philip Valencia, who moved to Warner Lakes two year’s ago, described what he most enjoys as a resident of Warner Lakes - the lakes, trees, landscaping and “fantastic people”. “What’s not to be wild about!” he said.  

Mr Valencia said the whole family had enjoyed all the activities at the first birthday celebrations and winning the prize – a $3000 Harvey Norman voucher – was the “icing on the cake.” “We have already worked out exactly what to buy, including a much-needed cook-top, dining table and DVDs for the kids.”

For those who hadn’t visited the 19-home Warner Lakes Display Village it was a well received opportunity to view the mix of double-storey and single storey designs on display. All feature practical living spaces and innovative designs well-suited to modern lifestyles and the tranquil surrounds of the Warner Lakes community.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO, Brendan Gore, said Peet was pleased that residents from Warner Lakes and the wider community enjoyed the Display Village’s first birthday celebrations as well as having the opportunity to view home designs from Queensland’s best builders.

A limited number of homesites are now available in Warner Lakes’ Swan Terrace Release. Homebuyer interest in the release has been strong, with around 80 per cent of lots already sold.

The limited remaining lots are sized between 320sqm and 440sqm and priced from $187, 500.

These homesites in the Swan Terrace Release are close to Lake Reflections, with playgrounds and barbeques just a short walk away.

Homebuyers drive sell-out success in The Landing

After two popular land releases in the Bridgewater and The Canopy precincts this year, homebuyers have driven another sell-out success at Warner Lakes in the new area of The Landing.

Located in a prime position near the future lakes area, The Landing features elevated homesites ranging in size from 321sqm to a generous 903sqm. Residents at The Landing will be able to stroll to the lake and parklands and several will enjoy water views from their homes.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said homesites in The Landing had been very popular and all lots sold almost immediately, with many homebuyers camping overnight to secure their preferred homesite.
